Baby wearing and hip dysplasia - my personal experience.
I feel like I carried Mackenzie for the first 10 months of her life – ok it was probably more like the first 18 months! It was great! She was happy and I was happy. It was a wonderful way to get cuddles from her without the harness getting in the way and it was super convenient too. We used an original style Ergo which worked well with the Pavlik Harness and I have heard from lots of other hippy parents that the Ergo 360 is really good too.
When Mackenzie was a bit bigger and heavier (but still in the harness) I started using a Hippychick Hipseat for when I needed to carry Kenzie but didn’t feel like getting all strapped up into an Ergo. It was just like carrying her on my hip but without the back and arm pain and constant slipping down.
It worked well with the Pavlik Harness as well.
This is not an advertisement for Ergo or Hippychick but an unbiased recommendation from one hippy parent to anyone who will listen. I wonder if we should stock these things in our store…
